Athletes from the South Okanagan came home with a medal haul from the 55-plus B.C. Games held in Kimberley and Cranbrook from Sept. 11 to 15.
Penticton athletes Betty Gibson earned two medals (silver and bronze) in darts and Cliff Young picked up two bronze medals in archery. In track and field competition, Allan Kerr was a double-gold winner, taking the top spot in the men’s 10 kilometre race and in the 5,000 metre race.

Heather Jackson, from Okanagan Falls, had a great showing in the pool winning three bronze medals in the 25 metre medley relay, 25 m freestyle relay and in the 400 m freestyle race.
Summerland’s Joyce Naugler, Murray Naugler and Lynn Schulberg teamed up to help their crew win the bronze medal in coed 55-plus team five pin bowling — Division B.
