Bryce Schaufelberger was officially inducted into the Mission Sports Hall of Fame Apr. 2.
Mayor Ted Adlem unveiled the display and presented Schaufelberger with a trophy during a council meeting before a small audience.
Schaufelberger is an accomplished soccer player who has represented the region, province and the country on many levels with Special Olympics.
Schaufelberger has been playing the sport for more than 20 years and holds numerous silver and gold medals from national championships . He also won a gold in Shanghai, China in 2007 and a bronze in Athens, Greece in 2011 during the Special Olympics World Games.
There are 23 members of varying ages and sports in the Mission Hall of Fame. Profiles of each inductee can be found at the Leisure Centre. The Hall of Fame was established in 1987 to recognize outstanding athletes and coaches.
