MEI Alumni Volleyball Game set for Oct. 22

Second to last opportunity to get in Mazda 3 draw for MEI alumni

Alumni Night returns to MEI on Oct. 22, as the Eagles senior boys and girls volleyball teams hit the court against the Abbotsford Christian Knights.

The MEI senior boys currently are ranked first in the province for the AA, with the Knights last, coming in at sixth. The Eagles senior girls rank fourth in the province for the AA, while ACS is outside the top 10.

Doors open for the event at 5 p.m., with a performance from the MEI Pep Band and free Rempel’s farmer sausage burgers and chips being served in the cafeteria prior to the start of the games.

The senior girls hit the floor starting at 6 p.m., followed by the Drop-In Alumni game starting at around 7:15 p.m. All past alumni are invited to participate. The senior boys game then concludes the night starting at around 7:30 p.m.

Alumni Night is also the second-to-last opportunity for MEI alumni to enter to win a brand new Mazda 3. That car will be given away free to one lucky alum on Jan. 31, 2020.

The car is being donated by VIP Mazda in Abbotsford and the draw is only open to MEI alumni aged 18 or older. An MEI alumni is anyone who has graduated from or has attended MEI school for one full year.

The car is being used to help draw up community interest in MEI events and to keep MEI alumni involved in the school.

Alumni receive one contest entry for attending any of the associated events, with the draw over the next two years. Any alumni who attend three or more events over the next two years will receive two bonus entries into the draw.

There is no purchase necessary to enter the draw, and current MEI students and staff are not eligible to enter.

The final opportunity to receive an entry into the contest will be on Jan. 31, 2020 at the MEI All Play Basketball Family Event.
