A MEI Grade 12 volleyball player is set to continue his time on the court with Saskatchewan’s Briercrest College.

The school announced on Friday that Abbotsford’s Carson Bargen will join the Clippers men’s volleyball team for the 2017-18 season.

Bargen is a six-foot-three outside who has played high school and middle school volleyball for the MEI Eagles, and also played club volleyball for the Fraser Valley Volleyball Club. Bargen was a part of the Eagles bronze medal winning team at the 2016 AA BC high school senior boys provincial championships and was named a first team all-star award at the tournament.

Bargen was a part of the 2015 AA provincial champion Eagles team, and was named a second team tournament all-star. He also won a junior boys volleyball provincial title in 2013, excelled in beach volleyball tournaments, and earned a provincial silver with the Grade 8 boys Eagles basketball team in 2013.

Bargen has also been selected to provincial teams, as well being invited to attend a Team Canada training camp.

The Clippers, who play out of Caronport, Sask., compete in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference and are a part of the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association. The men’s volleyball team captured a national silver medal in 2014, and earned bronze in 2012.
