Now that winter is behind us, it’s time to wipe the dust off those clubs and get ready for another golfing season. The Alberni Golf Course Men’s Club kicks off with a four-man best gross and best net competition on Sunday, March 31. This event is sponsored by Greg Dolling and the staff of G.D. Auto, on Third Avenue in Port Alberni.
This is a four-man team competition. The format is as follows: you count the best gross and the best net on each hole. When added together it gives you the score for the team. The same player’s score can not be used for both net and gross.
It is the responsibility of each player to make sure his handicap matches the tee he is playing from, whether it’s yellow, red, white or blue.
Please register in the pro shop for the 9 a.m. shotgun start, with your four-man team or as a single and you will be placed on a team. Please register by 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30. The cost for this event is $10 per player.
One final note, please fill your cards out so the scorers can understand them. First initial, last name, gross score, handicap and net score.
