The undefeated Johnston Meier Meteors held off Rutland #2 13-7 in Bantam baseball action Wednesday night at Marshall Field.
Taylor Elliot started off on the mound for the Meteors, striking out three batters before Brayden Damini relieved him in the fourth, and finished off the last couple innings nicely.
Shelby Hartwig batted a thousand, hitting a triple and two singles, while Franky Gettis, Elliot and Damini all went 2-for-3 with Damini’s two doubles bringing in 4 RBI.
Mitchell Lukacs added to the Meteors hitting streak by banging an inside-the-park home run.
Great defensive plays came from Jacob O’Quinn and Jon McIntyre. The Meteors will playing a doubleheader at Marshall on Saturday, taking on Summerland at 8:30 a.m. and the all-girl Okanagan Halos at 4 p.m.
