The Nicola Valley (Merritt) outlasted the North Okanagan Legends 6-4 in Midget B lacrosse action Sunday at Nor-Val Sports Centre.
It was 1-1 after one period with Darien Ottesen scoring for the Legends before leaving the game after being hit with a blistering shot from Nicola Valley’s Marcelo.
Nicola Valley pulled ahead 4-3 in the second period with both North Okanagan goals coming from speedy and skilled Jake Pelletier.
The Merritt crew pulled ahead 6-3 in the third before Pelletier completed his hat trick with 1:35 to play.
The Legends were without seven experienced players, but newcomers Kurtis Banks and Hayden McLean made quick strides to fit in and made some really good plays.
Chenielle Ottesen came close while getting prime opportunities in front of the net, while Brody Drydyk made his presence known with some solid physical play along with good heads-up lacrosse.
