It’s the end of the line for the playoff hopes of the Oceanside Midget Generals Rep team, losing at home to their rivals from Nanaimo on Sunday afternoon.

With their second loss of the round robin portion of play, the Midget Generals are officially out of contention for the league championship. They had a chance to keep their hopes alive against Nanaimo on Sunday afternoon but came up short, losing a closely contested game 5-3.

After capturing the regular season title, the Midget Generals headed into the playoffs with high hopes, looking to improve on their run after a fine regular season.

After an opening round robin loss to the Campbell River Tyees, the Midget Generals had to win to keep their hopes alive, which were dashed on Sunday afternoon.

The Midget Gens will finish off the round robin portion of the playoffs before their season officially comes to a close.
