Novice division Transformers Collision knocked of Central GM Sonics 5-2 early Saturday morning, with the first goal of the game potted by Transformers’ Colton Sanford midway through the first period.

The 1-0 lead was fortified early in the second period by another Sanford goal followed by an additional second-period marker by Camille Barton. Sanford struck again in the final minutes of the second for a hat trick.

Ty Bowen found his way past the Transformers’ net minder Bradley Bissat with an unassisted goal to put the Sonics on the scoreboard halfway through the second frame, making it 4-1.

Sonics then came out strong at the start of the third with a quick goal by Kade Livingston, which narrowed the gap to 4-2, but Barton popped in a final Transformers’ goal in the last minute of the game for the 5-2 victory. Transformers assists came from Barton and Diego Glanz.
