The Nanaimo District Lacrosse Association hopes to get off to a running start this season.
The association carried on a tradition of bringing together its entire membership for opening ceremonies and a giant team photo on Saturday at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. All divisions, from mini tykes on up, took the floor and later stuck around the arena for skills competitions, a three-on-three tournament, practices and other fun and games. Members of the Nanaimo Timbermen senior A squad were on hand to help out and meet young prospects.
Practices continued Sunday and minor lacrosse season begins this coming weekend (April 9-10).
