The Mission Roadrunners senior varsity football team lost big in Kelowna on Friday.
The Roadrunners were blanked 50-0 by the Kelowna Owls, and had no answer for quarterback Nate Beauchemin.
The Kelowna pivot threw for 262 yards and four touchdowns to fuel the offence.
Mission fell to 1-4 on the season with the loss, while the Owls moved to 3-2.
The Roadrunners sit tied for sixth place in the AAA’s Eastern Conference, and next travel to Surrey to take on the Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers (4-1) on Friday afternoon.
Mission closes the regular season in Abbotsford to take on the Abby Panthers on Nov. 2.
Meanwhile, the Mission junior varsity football team picked up a big 44-8 exhibition win over Handsworth on Oct. 17.
The juniors continued the regular season on Thursday when Lord Tweedsmuir (3-0) came to town, but results were not available at press time.
Mission (0-2) then concludes the regular season on Oct. 31, when they take on the Abbotsford Panthers (0-2) in Abbotsford.
The Roadrunners currently sit tied for fourth in the AAA East Division.
