Chilliwack’s Sarah Wark competed at the B.C. Mixed Curling Championships, which were held April 19-22 in Richmond.
Wark curled third for Jeff Richard’s rink, which posted a 3-3 record and finished out of contention in the nine-team tournament.
After opening with a 4-2 loss to Victoria’s Cameron de Jong, Wark’s team rattled off three straight wins in the B event, beating Penticton’s Adam Cseke (8-2), Salmon Arm’s Dave Belway (9-2) and Kerry Park/Nanaimo’s Wes Craig (5-4).
But a 6-5 semi-final loss to Castlegar’s Deane Horning bumped Wark into the C bracket and a 5-3 loss to de Jong snuffed out her last hope of securing a berth at nationals.
The 2019 Canadian Mixed Curling Championships take place Nov. 5-10 at the Fort Rouge Curling Club in Winnipeg, MB.
