The Battlefield Fight League mixed martial arts event next Saturday (March 26) at Frank Crane Arena took a hit as its top attraction is injured.
Denis Kang got hurt on Wednesday training for his scheduled main event fight with Jesse “J.T. Money” Taylor and has withdrawn.
At press time, BFL president Jay Golshani was looking into finding a new opponent for Taylor but was finding it difficult, as more than a dozen possible opponents had other commitments.
“We’re trying to find a replacement that’s suitable,” Golshani said. “Somebody with a name, not just anyone.”
He said he may start looking at other weight classes, as Taylor wants to fight and is willing to deal with competing in a different weight range if necessary.
“We’ll get it done,” Golshani said.
Kang has indicated to BFL that he may be ready to fight on the next card in Nanaimo on May 28.
Golshani said Battlefield is considering offering ticket holders a discounted purchase price on tickets to the next show.
