Monashee Surveying FC surprised Turn-Key Controls 3-0 in North Okanagan Soccer League action Wednesday night at Marshall Field #2.

The Surveyors (6-10-1) put the pressure on early and rolled through the match with Travis Baerg opening the scoring early on a great passing play.

Turn-Key (10-6) had a chance to level the game but superhero James Inglis flew across the net to block the shot with a big hand. The referee ruled the second shot to be offside.

Wily veteran Glenn Allen had a chance to double the lead but missed a sitter on the six. On the next play, Darren Nobrega slips a ball over top to a running Allen, who beat everyone and calmly slipped it short side for a 2-0 lead.

Turn-Key tried to counter but smooth defending by Nathan Martial and John Duc kept them limited. Turn-Key came out energized for the second half and recorded some corners and dangerous free kicks but Monashee calmly knocked the ball around and controlled the rest of the half

The hardest-working player on the field – Zach Sharp – created the final goal. Sharp pressured the last defender to give up the ball in the kill zone and then unselfishly fed Baerg for the clincher.

Okanagan Spirits Man of the Match was the high-flying Inglis, who pocketed his second shutout of the season.

Nation of Domination Eagle Homes of Salmon Arm iced Hi-Pro Sportswear Camels FC 2-0 at Marshall #5.

Despite having much of the possession, the Camels (8-7-2) could not break through NOD’s packed defence. NOD (10-3-3) utilized their speedsters to capitalize on an errant back pass and a waved off offside.

The Camels were undeterred and continued pressing hard but ran out of time. Albert Goldnik made some clutch saves taking a turn in goal. Nathan Whitling, Keefery Joyce and Mike Barrajon had strong games. The Rise Golf Club Man of the Match went to Nick Pantaleo for tireless work at the back.

Second-place North Enderby Timber shut out last-place Salmon Arm Outlaws 6-0 at Marshall #4.

The timber controlled the entire game, led by a strong back line of Jesse Knight, Scott Wallace, Greg Poggemoeller and Andrew Stein.

Andy and brother Danny Stein shared the Aclis Highlight of the Night after Andy danced around two defenders on the wing and placed a perfect cross to Danny, who hammered the ball to the back of the net with a leaping volley.

Adam Marwood earned the one-save shutout while healing his hamstring injury. NET improved to 12-4-1, while the Outlaws fell to 0-16.

Meanwhile, Penticton United ambushed Bosman Accounting of Vernon 7-1 in a Capri Insurance Men’s 45+ League make-up game Wednesday night at Marshall Field #1.

Rob Gunning (3), Kevin Kothlow (2), Zeke Pescada and Terry Grady handled the offence for second-place Penticton (12-3). Jenne Huberts hammered in a header off a Gerry Geelkerken corner for the accountants (0-14-1).
