More hockey tournaments ahead

Residents are welcomed to come up to the arena to watch the home tournaments and cheer on the players.

During the weekend of Jan. 10 to 12, the Princeton and District Minor Hockey Association hosted a Bantam Tier 3 and 4 tournament including three teams from Kelowna, West Vancouver, Chase and South Okanagan. Two of Princeton’s own, Michael White and Corey Thompson play for the South Okanagan team, champions of the tournament held at the Princeton Arena.

Last weekend, Jan 17 – 19, the Pewwee House tournament saw eight teams play over the weekend with the local team, Princeton Posse Peewees coming in at top spot.

On Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, the association will host a Novice tournament and then on Feb 8, the Tykes will enjoy a one day fun tournament. Times to be announced.

Residents are welcomed to come up to the arena to watch the home tournaments, cheer on the players and enjoy food and refreshments from the concession.

The players enjoy seeing the stands full of local fans.

The Princeton and District Minor Hockey Association is grateful to local businesses for their support, discounts and their donations for prizes during the home tournaments. The sponsorship and  support from local businesses enables the association to put together raffle tables, which assists in creating income for the teams.

The support received from Minor Hockey members and parents is appreciated as well.
