For all adventure-seeking activity enthusiasts and folks looking to make the summer even more exciting, the Vancouver Island Biathlon Club is putting on a mountain biking biathlon race.
This race will take place at the Mount Washington Nordic facilities on Aug. 18 with safety training and practice starting at 9 a.m. followed by the race at 11 a.m.. The price is $20 cash for non-members, and includes refreshments and use of a rifle.

“This race will combine the exciting sport of mountain biking with the careful precision of rifle marksmanship,” an event spokesperson said. “All you need to bring is your bike and your enthusiasm. Our trained coaches will give you instruction on shooting, provide rifles and ammunition, and will ensure that the race is conducted in a safe and supportive environment.”
