The only things local MS Bike fundraiser Tammy Zirk needs to be successful are determination and a fabulous fudge recipe. For the past few years and this year once again, Zirk is raising thousands of dollars for the cause with her Fantastic Fudge Fundraiser, which brought in over $10,000 in 2018.
MS Bike is the largest fundraising cycling series in North America that offers cyclists of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to ride through scenic parts of the country in support of people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). More than 9,000 cyclists are expected to participate in the 20 one- and two-day tours taking place across Canada between June and September. MS Bike West Kootenay Challenge is one of four MS Bike tours that is held in B.C.
Zirk is cycling in support of her family and friends living with MS and says she is optimistic she might even be able to top last year’s fundraising total.
“I enjoy bike riding and what a better reason than to bring awareness and fundraise for an amazing cause that effects so many amazing people,” says Zirk.
Cyclists and supporters from across B.C. will join Tammy in the MS Bike West Kootenay Challenge to raise funds and improve the lives of Canadians living with MS.
More than 100 cyclists will come together this weekend to ride the MS Bike West Kootenay Challenge, held on July 6 and 7 at Rotary Lakeside Park in Nelson. Click here to register.
Funds raised from the MS Bike will support innovative research into the cause, treatment and cure of MS while also providing valuable services, programs and advocacy for Canadians affected by this disease.
