Snow continues to accumulate on the ski runs at Mt. Timothy, and if everything goes according to plan, opening day may be as early as Dec. 10.
General manager Adam Piccolo says snow started to stay on the ground in early November, and as of Nov. 21, they had 43-centimetre base at mid-mountain.
“That’s pretty good. It’s ahead of what we had last year at this time.”
He adds the new guest services building, which was slated to open this season is currently unfinished and on hold until further funds and manpower are available.
Piccolo says staff members who had been working on the building had to redirect their efforts to lift maintenance and preparation for the ski season.
Currently, Mt. Timothy is still in need of certified ski and snowboard instructors. Piccolo says a certification course will be offered in January.
