Vernon’s Neil Muroe continued his quest to become the fastest Canadian on two planks with a bronze medal at a FIS World Cup Speedskiing event at Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops.

Known as the Subaru Velocity Challenge, the event hosted more than 40 racers representing 10 countries, including the world record holder, along with the three fastest skiers in the world.

Munroe, who is sponsored by Venron’s Hilltop Subaru, clocked a speed of 171.40 kilometres per hour to place third in the Velocity Challenge. He also had fifth- and seventh-place finishes at the Sun Peaks event.

Ivan Origone of Italy was first with a speed of 174.72 km/h, followed by his older brother, Simone (173.71km/h).
