The Princess Margaret Mustangs improved to 2-0 in Okanagan Valley junior girls basketball.
On Thursday night, the Mustangs easily defeated the Oliver Rattlers 44-18. Payton Ramage led the Mustangs with 12 points, while Vanessa Edis scored 10 and Alice James chipped in with six.
Mustangs co-coach Dave Killick said the team is still a little rusty, but it was an improvement from last week when they defeated the Pen High Lakers Gr. 9s 50-45 in overtime.

“Our team defence and rebounding we did a better job,” said Killick. “We pushed the ball up the floor at times. The kids took the ball to the hoop and scored.”
Killick wants to see his players become more patient offensively as at times they have three players that want to cut to the basket. The Mustangs received strong defensive play from Kayla Francisco.
This weekend the Mustangs will be at Kelowna Secondary School for a tournament that Killick said will determine a lot about their season. The tournament is expected to feature strong teams.
