Nanaimo Clippers get past Capitals, rematch coming

The Nanaimo Clippers took three out of four points in a couple of closely contested hockey games

The Nanaimo Clippers took three out of four points in a couple of closely contested hockey games on the weekend.

The city’s B.C. Hockey League team dropped a 4-3 decision to the Trail Smoke Eaters in double overtime on Friday night at Frank Crane Arena, but responded with a 2-1 road win against the Cowichan Valley Capitals on Sunday afternoon.

On Friday, Preston Brodziak, Maxwell Crozier and Parker Colley scored against the first-place Smokies.

On Sunday it was Tristan Crozier and Jamie Collins who scored and goalie Taz Burman made 24 saves for the win.

GAME ON … The Clippers and Capitals play a rematch on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena.
