Nanaimo Clippers step on the ice for training camp

BCHL team starts skating with pre-season games coming up this weekend

Any success the Nanaimo Clippers will have this season will start this week, at training camp.

B.C. Hockey League clubs around the province are getting preparations underway for the new season and the Clippers began their training camp on Monday with practices at Cliff McNabb Arena.

The training camp schedule for Tuesday, Aug. 20, sees the Clippers on the ice at Cliff McNabb between 8:45 a.m.-3:45 p.m. and Wednesday will feature the annual Rhodesie Cup intrasquad game at 7:30 p.m. at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. Admission to that game is by donation to KidSport.

GAME ON … The Nanaimo Clippers play their first exhibition game on the road on Friday, Aug. 24, against the Victoria Grizzlies. On Saturday at noon, the Clippers face the Grizzlies at Frank Crane Arena. Admission is included in fair admission to the Vancouver Island Exhibition.
