The Diane Foster rink from Nanaimo defeated Lonnie Schoop from Courtenay/ Campbell River to win the Tim Hortons A Event at the annual ladies’ bonspiel, Sunday at the Alberni Valley Curling Club.
Foster scored three in the seventh end to go ahead 8–2 and Schoop shook hands.
A pair of Port Alberni rinks faced off in the MacDermott’s Insurance B event, with Lorraine Jeffries beating Sherry Harrison 6-5.
In the Epicure Selections C event, Hazel Watson from Qualicum Beach defeated Stefanie Weber from Port Alberni 8-4 in eight ends.
The next bonspiel is the Daytime Christmas Bonspiel, Dec. 17–18. The club will host the BC Senior championships in February.
