The Nelson Leafs scored eight unanswered goals en route to 12-3 blowout win against the Rebels in Castlegar on Saturday.
Reid Wilson, Shawn Campbell, David Sanchez and Cole Wyatt each scored twice for the Leafs (24-9-1), with Jack Karran, Joshua Stypka, Mitchell Lavoie and Tyler Nypower adding singles.
Campbell, Wyatt and Michael LeNoury each had four-point games while Emery Neilson chipped in with three assists, and Hunter Young finished with 22 saves for Nelson’s fifth straight win.
The Leafs were playing a Rebels squad with just one healthy goaltender on its roster. Cedric Lesieur was on the hook for all 12 goals on 50 shots faced.
Colby Winia scored twice and Blaine Krona added one more for Castlegar (11-21-1).
Nelson opened the game with four straight goals within the first 10 minutes. Winia broke the streak with a goal, but from then on it was all Nelson until Krona and Winia added two more goals in the final two minutes of regulation.
The Leafs are back on home ice Friday against the Kimberley Dynamiters.
