The Nelson Neptunes have come off one of their best performances of the year so far, winning their home meet in Salmo on June 25 to 26.
Not even the slightly longer than 25-metre pool or the unpredictability of the weather could slow down the Neptunes as they swam away to win the meet by almost 300 points in front of second-place Grand Forks.
The Neptunes, training out of Castlegar in May then moving to Salmo for June to August, have risen up to the challenge of training without a home pool and have been consistently getting best times at every meet so far.
Salmo was no exception, with highlight swims such as Evan Chouinard (Div 1 boys) dropping close to 25 seconds in his 100 individual medley and Jaylen Rushton getting provincial qualifying times in all six of her events.
The event marked the Neptunes’ 47th meet in their 50 years of existence.
