L.V. Rogers athlete Matti Erickson defended his gold medal and set a record in the process at the high school track and field championships last weekend in Langley.
Erickson won gold in the boys’ 1,500-metre race with a new mark of four minutes 1.36 seconds. That time smashes his own gold-medal winning run last year by 11 seconds, which at the time was also a record.
He also took silver in the 800 race in 1:56.89.
Avi Waterfall and Jasper Ander also competed for LVR, with each setting personal bests in their races.
