The Fraser Valley Minor Midget Thunderbirds head into the new year at the top of the BC Hockey Minor Midget league following their series against the Okanagan Rockets.
The Thunderbirds posted two wins and one loss to continue in first place while the Rockets dropped to third place.
The three-game series started with a 2-1 win on Friday, Dec. 14 over the Rockets at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre.
The Thunderbirds second game on Saturday ended with a 8-4 defeat.
The team faired better in Sunday’s game with a 2-1 win.
The Thunderbirds(13-4-1-0) maintain their grip on first place, three points ahead of the second-place Cariboo Cougars(11-5-1-1).
All 10 BC Hockey Minor Midget teams are taking their Christmas break.
The Thunderbirds will not see BC Hockey action till January 18th when they visit the Vancouver North-West Hawks.
