Both local football organizations were well represented as the B.C. Community Football Star Bowl was held at Langley’s McLeod Athletic Park.
The game pitted the top bantam and midget football players from the two football leagues — the Valley Community Football League and the Vancouver Mainland Football League — and was held on April 16.
In the bantam game, eight players from Langley Minor Football were selected: Ethan Thompson, Tyson Tombe, Stryker Roloff, Ethan Croome, Brodie Thomas, Josh Fletcher and Joe Nickel. Daylan Smith had to miss the game with injury.
And Nickel earned the defensive player of the game award for his efforts as his team, Team Grey won 33-3.
Team Blue featured a dozen players from North Langley Community Football.
Those players were Connor Hurley, Andrew Canning, Caleb Nielsen, Andrew Marshall, Ryan Taylor, Evan Rees, David Wegert, Jacob Ronald, Ethan Bernardin, Nicholas Lacroix, Alex Ronald and Michael Huggan.
And in the midget final, 14 players from the provincial champion Langley Stampeders were selected to suit up in the contest.
Those players were Devante Wilson, Ross Baykey, Wonjae Boo, Devin Dacosta, Josh Look, Craig Clarot, Kyle Clarot, Owen Jenkins, Zach Janzen, Nolan McMurchy, Nathan Murray, Thomas Sandberg, Damen Norris and Nick Thomas.
