Nolan Foote hopes it’s the first of many tours of duty with Hockey Canada’s development program.
The 16-year-old Kelowna Rockets’ forward is one of 24 WHL players named this week to represent their country at the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Sault Ste. Marie, ON.
Sixty-six players from across the country will be divided up to make three Canadian teams—– Team Canada Black, Team Canada Red, and Team Canada White—who will face the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and the United States in their quest for gold.
Foote, a native of Englewood, CO, has dual citizenship and can play internationally for either Canada or the U.S.
The young brother of Rockets’ defenceman Cal Foote, Nolan was a second round bantam pick (43rd overall) for Kelowna in 2015.
