The 100 Mile Nordics Club won the Cross Country BC Club Membership Contest.
“It’s so satisfying to see such a groundswell of support from skiers, snowshoers and supporters. This community never disappoints,” said Craig Davidiuk, the club’s spokesperson. “Now if we can only get some snow to get the season rolling.”
Some new things are also happening at the club.
“We are also developing a sponsorship program to create ties between our membership and the business community. Some examples include new fun signage in the kid’s adventure park, collaboration with hotels for “stay and ski” packages and event sponsorship,” said Davidiuk.
People can email 100milenordicsspr@gmail.com if they are interested in becoming a sponsor.
Board member Gary Carlson will be running a coaches workshop on Jan. 11 to 13. There is a shortage of certified coaches for the club, so if anyone is interested in coaching cross country skiing, they can sign up the club’s website, Facebook page and at the lodge. Teen and adult lessons are in demand, according to Davidiuk.
The club has also launched a new log and website.
For passes, the family day pass is $20. Family season passes are $340. Skill developmental programs are $75.
“This allows your kid access to multiple coaching sessions throughout the year and move between ski levels,” said Davidiuk.
