About 180 players in north central B.C. hit Vanderhoof ice from Jan. 14 to 15 for an Initial Minor Hockey tournament.

Four- to eight-year-olds in teams hailing from Fraser Lake, Burns Lake, Houston, and Fort St. James competed in games that covered half of Vanderhoof’s arena with mini nets for younger players — a new regulation introduced by BC Hockey this season to fit the size and level of the young players.

No score was kept for the tournament.
