The North Island Peewee Eagles took no prisoners at the Chilton Regional Arena last Saturday, hammering the Tier 2 Comox Valley Chiefs 8-0.

The game was not even close from the start, with the Eagles pouring on offence throughout all three periods, dominating possession of the puck for long amounts of time.

Eagles’ goaltender Lucas Handley picked up a somewhat easy shutout, stopping roughly ten shots total.

Goals were scored in all three periods by Lucca Stewart, Zach Spafford (x3), Maddy Jorgensen, Jack Barrett, and Landon Turgeon. Assists went to Maddox Peterson, Christopher Topfer (x2), Barrett (x2), Stewart (x3), Spafford, Travyn Foster, Rylan Krawietz, Bella Stewart, Isaiah Therrien, and Jorgensen.

After the game, assistant coach Dennis Foster said that he felt the team “played well — production from lots of different players including the defence.”

He also noted the Eagles will “continue to improve and work hard.”

Assistant coach Chad Mackenzie agreed with Foster’s thoughts, adding, “Each players’ level of effort is crucial to our teams success and our players are very unselfish in giving effort.”

The Eagles have not lost one game during tiering, and they will most likely play Tier 2 this season.
