North Langley Kodiaks swamp Delta Longhorns

Despite a soggy field, the North Langley Kodiaks defeated the opposition.

The North Langley Kodiaks kept a perfect record intact after they overwhelmed the opposition in a 47-0 demolition of the North Delta Longhorns on Sunday.

Despite heavy rain creating a soggy field, the Kodiaks’ offense proved unstoppable by using a variety of tactics on the ground and in the air.

Running back Ethan Bernardin had a successful day with eight carries for 63 yards and four touchdowns.

Graeme Melnyk, Adam Tennent and Ciaran Davies contributed bruising runs up the middle behind an offensive line that dominated the opposing defence.

Austin Balzer made a perfect five out of five passes, including touchdown passes to Justin Kular and Adam Brass.

The Kodiaks’ defence prevented the Longhorns from gaining a single first down on the day other than those provided by penalties.

Thomas Box had a key interception on a rare instance when the North Delta quarterback had time to release the ball.

Timothy Janke and the Braxton Subrata were two of the many Kodiaks with strong defensive efforts during the game.

The Kodiaks next game is on Oct. 13 at the MacLeod Athletic Park where they will face the North Surrey Bears.
