The Northern Hoops basketball camps have returned to Terrace. The three-day camp was held at Skeena Junior Secondary school and wrapped up training yesterday afternoon.
The camps where hosted by basketball coaches from the University of Northern British Columbia’s Prince George campus.
“We are here to bring an opportunity for these guys to get some training and coaching from a university level,” said Todd Jordan, who is the head coach of the UNBC men’s team.
The clinics were held in three separate categories of Grades 2-6, 7-10 and 10-12.
Loralyn Murdoch is head of the UNBC women’s team and is the clinic organizer.
She has been coming to Terrace for a number of years and says the clinics are a lot of fun, but they also trying to expose the students to as many things as they can throughout the three-day camp,
She said about 70 youths participated in the clinics which ran Aug. 22 – 24.
