Novices ice competition

New curlers have a bonspiel under their belts thanks to the inaugural Novice Bonspiel at Glen Meadows Curling Club in North Saanich.

Novice curling teams consisting of new curlers from most of the curling clubs in the Greater Victoria area gathered at Glen Meadows Curling Club for the one-day event. Twelve teams from across the Greater Victoria area entered and played three six-end games during the one-day event. In the end, a team of junior curlers from the Juan De Fuca Curling Club was the overall winner. The team of juniors included skip Ryan Cassidy, third Calvin Rugg, second Megan Cowall and lead Emily Bell.

The winners won cash and prizes.
