Red rocket Michael Fretz took home the hardware as the team’s scoring leader with 34 goals and 12 assists for 46 points in 43 games played, and was also named Rookie of the Year.
Homegrown forward Travis Flug was named Fan Favourite, and QB D-man Liam Peel Most Improved.
Forward Cole Schneider was named Playoff MVP, and defensive stalwart and captain Joe Chase and forward Cam McCarrick shared the coveted Coach’s MVP award.
Beverley Yelland received the clubs’ Volunteer of the Year award.
“The banquet went really good,” Gens’ head coach and GM Brent Demerais said after, confirming the award recipients “were definitely all deserving that’s for sure.”
“A strong turnout with all the team present as well as parents, the board, volunteers and major sponsors,” said Generals’ secretary Elizabeth Cudmore, who was pressed into service as one of the speakers. “The night was a perfect combination of gratitude and celebration.”
