It’s the end of the regular season for the Okanagan College Coyotes basketball teams this weekend. The Coyotes’ playoffs match-ups will be decided this weekend, as the men’s and women’s squad look ahead to a tough match up against the Capilano Chargers.
The mens’ squad last played the Chargers Nov. 17 in a high-scoring 126-117 loss where Chargers guard Denvers Sparks-Guest dropped 53 points. The Coyotes’ team has come a long way since November, and look to use those additions to get revenge on the Chargers. Despite the change, the Coyotes have had some tough beats recently in the season, having lost three of their last four games.
The Coyotes play game one of the two game series Friday night, and will finish the regular season with an afternoon match-up Saturday.

The women’s Coyotes team had a similar tough beat to the Chargers back in November. The women look to finish the season strong in their match-ups this weekend against Capilano.
“Both games will be tough, but we are slowly becoming healthy again,” said womens’ coach Andrew Gini. Gini notes that Megan Blair will return to the line-up which will help the Coyotes with the playoff push.
With the playoffs coming Feb. 28 in Vancouver, the Coyotes’ squads aim to make the most of their last regular season games. The mens’ team will play either Capilano or Douglas in the first round of the playoffs, while the womens’ squad will play either Camosun or Douglas in their first round.
