Canadian Figure skater Patrick Chan was in Mission on Sunday to share his knowledge and experience with local young skaters.
Chan is a three-time Olympic medalist, three-time World Figure Skating Champion and a 10-time Canadian Champion.
He was the guest of the Mission Skating Club, which hosted 90 skaters from all over B.C. with a Back to the Ice seminar to kick off the 2019/2020 skating season.
Chan led the skaters in choreography and skills and finished off with an intimate question and answer session, inspiring skaters with his sincerity and passion for the sport.
The skaters left with more than just a photograph and an autographed item, but a memory that should last a lifetime.
Organizers of the event said “Chan is a nationally recognized athlete that has left a huge impression on our small club.”
