There was plenty of action for the Oceanside Running Club Association (ORCA) to cap off the month of October; with two races showcasing some great finishes.
At the 2015 B.C. Cross Country Championships held at Beban Park in Nanaimo, Melissa Ross raced to finish with a 20:40:18 time in the 6k cross-country.
Ross — competing against world class and national team runners — delivered an impressive performance and earned herself a 19th place finish out of 57 runners.
The Cowichan Autumn Classic 10k was held on Sunday, October 25 with five ORACA members spotted at the start line.
Elizabeth Manson was the fastest ORCA with a time of 45:10, for a first place finish in her age group.
Rhys Harrison also placed first in his age group with a time of 47:12; Fred Manson was third with a time of 51:50. Janet Manson placed ninth in her group with a time of 56:00, while Lindsey Allen was 15th with a time of 1:07:39.
Sarah Larsen was the lone ORCA running the half marathon at the Cowichan Autumn Classic, placing sixth in her age group with a time of 1:48:08.
