Red-hot striker Ken Rath rang up a pair of goals, while midfielder David Hampton added a single as the tiremen went to 7-7-2.
Rath neatly beat the last defender redirected a 15-yard cross from Kevin Mitchell past ex-Scottish pro keeper Tommy McGill for his first tally.
Hampton rushed up the right flank, took a feed from Jenne Huberts and beat McGill with a low corker far side.
Summerland pulled to within one early in the second half when Nathan Larkin’s shot from the left corner bounced in off a defender past keeper Felix Heinrich.
Rath added late insurance on a sweet through ball by Denis Chabot.
McGill dove to tip a blistering Mitchell penalty kick over the bar in the second half, moments after robbing Terry Lowe on a low bullet from in tight.
The Kal Tire back four, anchored by Gordie Campbell, was bold with Campbell earning the Surplus Herby’s Man of the Match before he left for a camping holiday in the Kootenays.
