The OTC Sunterra Sistas ambushed the Capri Brew Crew 10-3 in North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association Division 2 play Thursday night at MacDonald Park.

Cassandra Otto and Diane Neudorf sniped four goals each for the Sistas (12-1-1), while Nicole Williams and Kim Sylvester added singles. Becky Birbilis was solid in net, but yielded a pair of goals to Marisa Wiebe.

Midfielder Nigel Clack scored with two minutes remaining as the Silver Stars shaded host Westside 3-2 in Okanagan Men’s 55+ Soccer League action Thursday night.

John Matejicka came off the injured reserve and bagged a deuce for the 14-2-2 Stars.

Former Dutch pro Ben Voss produced two goals in tight for Westside (2-13-1), who otherwise failed to test towering keeper David Gould.

In other 55+ play, Vernon Kal Tire brushed back the Summerland Rockets 3-1 at Reiswig Park in Lake Country.

Red-hot striker Ken Rath rang up a pair of goals, while midfielder David Hampton added a single as the tiremen went to 7-7-2.

Rath neatly beat the last defender redirected a 15-yard cross from Kevin Mitchell past ex-Scottish pro keeper Tommy McGill for his first tally.

Hampton rushed up the right flank, took a feed from Jenne Huberts and beat McGill with a low corker far side.

Summerland pulled to within one early in the second half when Nathan Larkin’s shot from the left corner bounced in off a defender past keeper Felix Heinrich.

Rath added late insurance on a sweet through ball by Denis Chabot.

McGill dove to tip a blistering Mitchell penalty kick over the bar in the second half, moments after robbing Terry Lowe on a low bullet from in tight.

The Kal Tire back four, anchored by Gordie Campbell, was bold with Campbell earning the Surplus Herby’s Man of the Match before he left for a camping holiday in the Kootenays.
