Back-to-back third-period collapses spelled doom for the Mission City Outlaws over the weekend.

The hockey club fell apart in the final frame on Saturday against the Delta Ice Hawks and on Sunday against the Grandview Steelers.

Mission and Delta entered the third period tied at three, after Baylee Wright, Ryan Sharma and Justin Bowerman all scored in the first two periods. Delta took over in the third, scoring a power-play goal early and adding two more to win 6-3.

Wright and Sharma both had multi-point games against Delta, while goalie Matthew Trulsen made 28 saves in the loss.

It was a similar story in Burnaby on Sunday, with the Steelers scoring three unanswered late goals to down the Outlaws 7-4.

Mission battled back from 2-0 and 4-2 deficits earlier in the game. Sammy Zeinab, Wright, Bowerman and newly acquired Jackson Waniek all tallied for the Outlaws. Mission’s Keaton Dyck stopped 32 shots in the loss.

The Outlaws’ record fell to five wins, nine losses and one overtime loss after the pair of setbacks. They remain in fourth place in the Pacific Junior Hockey League’s Harold Brittain conference.

The Outlaws next host the Aldergrove Kodiaks tonight for a rare Friday night home game. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
