Mission’s Justin Bowerman is heading to the Pacific Junior Hockey League’s all star game.
The Outlaws captain is the lone representative from the club to qualify for the mid-season classic, which occurs in Langley on Monday.
Bowerman has recorded four goals and 13 assists in 30 games for the Outlaws this season, and has recorded 123 penalty minutes. He sits fifth on the team in scoring, and has two power play goals and one game-winning goal.
The local product is in his fourth year with the Outlaws, and was a part of the 2016 PJHL champion Mission team. He’ll be joining players from the Abbotsford Pilots, Aldergrove Kodiaks, Langley Trappers, Ridge Meadows Flames and Surrey Knights on the Harold Brittain conference team for the game.
The 2018 PJHL all-star game occurs at Langley’s George Preston Arena on Monday, with face-off set for 7 p.m.
A quartet of Outlaws players have also received invites to the PJHL Prospects Game, which occurs in Abbotsford on Jan. 29.
Defender Andrew Berkelaar and forwards Justin Hargrave, Chase Heslop and Connor Jollymore have all been selected.
Heslop is tied for eighth in the PJHL for rookie scoring, with seven goals and 13 assists in 30 games. He’s third overall for the Outlaws this season. Jollymore and Hargrave are sixth and seventh respectively on the Outlaws in scoring, with Jollymore collecting 16 points and Hargrave adding 15. Berkelaar has been solid at the point for the Outlaws picking up two points and 22 penalty minutes in 23 games for the club.
The four players join rookies from the other five teams in the Brittain conference at the game. The game occurs at Abbotsford’s MSA Arena, with face-off set for 7:30 p.m.
