The Mission Outlaws now find themselves in a best of three competition for the Pacific Junior Hockey League title.
After winning the first two games of the championship series against the North Vancouver Wolf Pack, the Outlaws have dropped two straight decisions, 11-5 and 7-2. The pair of weekend losses ties the best of seven series at two game each.
Game five is set for Tuesday, March 24 in North Vancouver.
Friday’s 11-5 loss was one the Mission squad would like to have back. The locals charged out to a 4-1 lead in the first period and it looked like it could be easy sailing the rest of the way.
However, the Wolf Pack had other ideas. At the midway point of the second period, with Mission leading 5-2, North Vancouver began the comeback, scoring nine goals in a row.
Mission goals were scored by Ryan Sharma with two, Ram Brar, David McGowan and Bryce Pisiak.
On Saturday, the Outlaws were back on home ice, but fell 7-2 as the Wolf Pack offence kept on scoring in bunches.
Mission opened the scoring, thanks to a goal by Nicholas Thompson, to take a 1-0 lead into the second period.
But seven straight Wolf Pack goals put the game out of reach.
