Abbotsford-based pro wrestling promotion returns to Abbotsford Arts Centre

The stars of Pacific Pro Wrestling are set to return to the ring for the first time in 2020 with “The Show Must Go On” on Saturday night at the Abbotsford Arts Centre.

The promotion’s last show crowned its first-ever champion back on Nov. 7, when Matt Xstatic pinned Bishop for the title.

However, the win came with some controversy as Xstatic was attacked by PPW co-owner Danni Deeds, who refused to present him the title and stated that he didn’t deserve the honour.

Deeds will be present on Saturday to explain his actions from November and what is next for the championship picture.

In the ring, Abbotsford’s Todd Quality is set to challenge Adam Ryder. Quality had a great showing at the Championship Tournament event on Nov. 7, defeating Shreddz in a qualifying match but ultimately coming up short in the main event.

Travis Williams takes on Judas Icarus in a battle of two emerging young stars in the Pacific Northwest scene.

Williams is the current Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling’s Canadian champion, while Icarus is the ECCW champion.

Women’s action sees Liiza Hall battle Kikyo, a tag-team bout features the duo of Shareef Morrow and Jacky Lee against the team of Pitfall Jones and Rook Kelly, a triple-threat match pits Tony Baroni vs. Vance Nevada vs a mystery opponent, and Eli Surge takes on Elliot Tyler.

Doors for the event open at 7 p.m., with the first match scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
