The Golden Pee Wee Rams just returned from Chetwynd where they competed in the Pee Wee Tier 4 BC Championships. The miles were long, the games were hard but all of the kids came out winners. The kids played hard and in their Pool was the 1st and 2nd place teams, our kids never gave up. As coaches, parents and family we are very proud of the efforts of each and everyone of them.
In the end Golden was awarded the Fair Play Trophy, which is based on behaviour on and off the ice. The Committee even contacts the hotel to inquire about the behaviour of the team. We are very proud of this award and the trophy will be displayed in the Arena Showcase. This is the first time that these kids have had the opportunity to go to the Championships so now they know what to expect the next time they are able to go.
I would like to thank the Chetwynd Minor Hockey for hosting such a spectacular event. It was obvious the amount of time that was spent organizing the BC Championships and they didn’t miss anything. I would like to take this time to thank all the parents of the Pee Wee team for their dedication to their kids this season and the trip to Chetwynd. We all came together as a team and I think everyone had fun, including the parents.
We would like to thank all of our sponsors who made this trip possible through donations and support. We would like to thank the following in no particular order; College of the Rockies, Ewan and McKenzie, Falkins Insurance, G. Tress Contracting, Golden Medicine Center, Kootenay Pumping, Golden Legion, Lordco, Overwaitea, Tim Hortons, Mad Trapper and Off the Wall. Also thank you to everyone who supported the team with their raffle tickets and bottle drives.
Thank you to all the Golden residents.
