The Williams Lake Peewee Tier 2 Timberwolves finished fourth at a tournament in Quesnel at the beginning of February (Feb. 3-5).

An early morning game Friday saw the T-Wolves come out flat against a motivated Terrace team as Williams Lake had beaten them previously in the season in Salmon Arm.

The final score was 6-3 for Terrace. Dane DuBois had two goals for Williams Lake, while Keaton Riplinger rounded out the scoring.

Next, Williams Lake faced Vanderhoof and piled on a 9-3 win. William Paynton came up big for the lakecity squad potting three goals and adding an assist. Lane Wycotte scored twice, while Rylen Williamson and Landon Fuller were the other goal scorers.

In game three against Dawson Creek ( a team Williams Lake had beaten badly earlier in the year) Williams Lake started strong but let off in the third.

It was deadlocked at 4-4 after two periods before mental lapses and major errors allowed Dawson to score three quick goals early in the third. From there Dawson Creek piled it on while Williams Lake seemed disheartened and were unable to mount any kind of attack.

The final score was 9-4.

Paynton led the T-wolves again with three goals and an assist, while DuBois scored the other Williams Lake goal.

Sunday, Williams Lake faced Prince George and prevailed, 5-4.

Williams Lake scored on a power play with two minutes left to ice the game. Paynton scored twice, as did DuBois, while Conley Pinette and Wycotte each contributed one goal each.

The win gave Williams Lake fourth place in the tournament.

Next up for the Peewee T-wolves is a tournament in Fort St. John this weekend, Feb. 18-19.
