Chilliwack’s peewee A2 Junior Bruins capped off a dream season with a President’s Series championship, beating Surrey 6-1 last Friday to take the title.
The Junior Bruins showed great resilency this year, battling through a series of injuries that forced the team to play many of their games with a 10-man roster.
Even against Surrey, the locals were missing two key players who were on vacation, a fitting end to a wild season.
The peewees went 4-1-3 in the President’s Series games.
Chilliwack Minor Hockey president David Soltys presented the championship banner last Sunday at Twin Rinks in front of a large group of friends and family.
The team wraps up their season this weekend, taking part in a four-day tourney in Richmond.
