Penticton hockey team wins gold in Washington

Penticton Skaha Ford Pee Wee Mustangs brought home gold

The Penticton Skaha Ford Pee Wee Mustangs brought home gold from the Under-12 Thanksgiving Classic held in Spokane, Wash. last weekend.

After finishing third in the round-robin, one point out of first, the Mustangs had to play Spokane’s top team on Sunday morning in an emotional game. The Mustang’s won 3-2 in overtime and then went on to win gold in the final, blanking Trail’s top team 4-0.

“I am very proud of the team and their resilience to overcome adversity to win gold in a strong tournament, in addition to strengthening their character as a team,” said coach Colin Powell.
