The Penticton Power-ed their way to a Vernon Summer Classic championship with a 10-1 win over Quesnel.
That sealed an undefeated run in six games for the squad. The tournament victory over Quesnel was a rematch as they opened with a 14-9 win over the northern B.C. team. The Power defeated West Kelowna 10-6, Cloverdale 21-5, West Kootenay 20-2 and Kelowna 9-5 in semifinal action.
“The girls played unreal all weekend,” said Power coach Dan Wilson. “They became a stronger team with every game. It was a weekend that we really needed. It was a good time for them to bond.”
The team, made up of 2003 and 2004-born players, have really started to gel.
The Power are 7-1 in their league and it is their goal to win it. Districts are in Vernon June 16 to 18.
