The Penticton Vees are now on a seven-game winning streak after defeating the Powell River Kings last night 4-3.
At 12:35 in the first period, Cole Shepard opened scoring for the Vees after a two-on-one rush with Massimo Rizzo. He was able to beat Kings goalie Mitch Adamyk on the blocker side.
Then halfway through the second period, Ryan Sandelin made an epic comeback to the roster in 2019 when he jammed a loose puck from the front of the net under Adamyk at 11:07. Sandelin missed the first seven games of 2019 and this goal made his 24th of the season.

The Vees 2-0 lead didn’t last long as Levi Glasman was able to beat Vees goalie Jack LaFontaine on his glove side off the rush. This goal came just 1:33 after Sandelin’s.
Teamwork between Rizzo and Brendan Harrogate returned the Vees two-goal advantage when Rizzo spied Harrogate coming off the bench and fired him the puck. A backhanded goal by Harrogate made the game 3-1.
To finish off the Vees’ scoring in the second, David Silye raced after the puck once it cleared centre ice and picked it up on the left wing. He skated into the Kings’ zone before cutting to the slot, firing it over Adamyk’s blocker and making his first goal in 11 games.
Four minutes into the third, Rowan Miller found a loose puck and snuck it past LaFontaine. Then, shortly after stepping out of the box, Matthew Byrne deflected a pass from Ryan Brushett past LaFontaine with nine minutes remaining.
